  • PNW Fur Industry Update

In another sign of the fur farming industry’s decline, the Northwest Farm Food Co-op has sold its feed plant in Burlington, Washington. The new owner, Scoular, will use the facility to produce ingredients for pet food. At one time, the cooperative was a major supplier of mink feed to fur farms in Washington, Oregon and Idaho– with more than 25 member farms.
The sale of the feed plant could be bad news for the few remaining fur farms in the Pacific Northwest, who may now pay more for feed (feed is among the biggest expenses for a fur farm).

  • A Brief Response to Worker’s Tap Vandalism

“How can we, as medium-to-large cities, publicly attack power in a way that makes us stronger rather than weaker?…rather than trapping ourselves in a cycle of low-level vandalism…how can we sustain combative momentum without becoming more marginalized and disconnected, let alone more specialized and irrelevant?” – Atlanta report-back, 2012.

We see the attack on Workers Tap and its accompanying communique as a counterproductive way of spurring conversation about disability, accessibility and covid. We wish to engage with these questions seriously despite the manner in which they were posed and the absolutist stance the author of the communique took on what are, in our view, issues with some nuance. • Anti-Eugenics Action Against Worker’s Tap

In the early hours of January 29th, some disabled anarchist attacked Worker’s Tap through tagging it and damaging a window. Due to the bullet-proof glass, the window’s damage would only consist of small dents. However, multiple phrases were thrown up. A circle “(A)” to signify that this was an anarchist who did this action. A “161” to call out that it was fascists forces whom originally paved the path of COVID as a genocide since April 2020 through the blood of primarily Black and Indigenous disabled people, a road of bones which now many liberals and ableist anarchists goose-stomp on in collaboration with the fascists to maintain a “normal” for keeping bars and other viral-friendly entertainment operating at the expense of disabled lives. • Anti-Maskers Confronted at Le Care Pharmacy and the Revolutionary Potential of Anti-Eugenics Action

On a September cloudy day, two anti-maskers were confronted by a disabled militant for enacting the lethal violence of spreading a virus that has been known to be The Major Killer of disabled people in this decade (source: https://medicalxpress.com/news/2022-09-covid-deadlier-intellectual-developmental-disabilities.html). One revealed how most of their kind are fucking cowards, and ran away. The other masked up, not willing to throw down for their “right” to be unmasked. This was an action of community defense, making the pharmacy safer for disabled people to receive their bivalent booster. (more…)

  • Some critiques of the demo on 6/25

    Submitted Anonymously

Tonight, June 25, was okay. It could have been great.
We had a crowd of maybe 300, almost 400 and though there were some peace police it was almost entirely all people ready to riot. When was the last time we had that? J20 in 2021? May 25th, the anniversary of George Floyd’s murder, also in 2021. We definitely have not had that many people ready to riot in over a year.
We got marching in good spirits, hit a Starbucks, took a wrong turn and almost ended up on the interstate, then hit the intended target of a CPC-affiliated clinic. A little chaotic but we did the thing. No police presence, no riot lines, nothing to worry about.
But then we marched straight back to Grant Park. Why? (more…)

  • Why are we still standing outside of precincts?

Tonight, Feb 4, we stuck it to PPB by… yelling at them for a couple hours. And making them take their squad cars into the IJC basement parking from the street. Impressive. Why are we still doing this? Because it was effective in June of 2020? Was it even effective then or did it just feel effective?
It is 2022. Another Black man was murdered. It is outrageous. We should have millions on the streets. But we do not. (more…)

  • May Day is Our Day: A Decentralized Callout

A year ago, when the Covid-19 pandemic first made itself felt, some anarchists on occupied Duwamish Territory (Seattle) put out calls for decentralized actions on May 1st, the fighting holiday of the working classes.

We return to that idea with new perspectives and experiences. Taking up the call: “This May Day we invite organizations, crews, and individuals to take the initiative and plan actions reflecting our diverse and interconnected struggles.” (more…)

  • Fuck Twitter

Against the anarchist celebrity: In a culture which creates fame and lets it thrive there will never be a total abolition of hierarchies, even the idea of a “anarchist celebrity” is a oxymoron. Fame lets the word of a celebrity or someone with clout be put above anyone else making it easy for a normally random shitty person become even worse and even shittier, letting abusers and creeps thrive. New zine: Who Are You Streaming For? —three criticisms of livestreaming

Who Are You Streaming For? is a collection of three critiques of livestreaming at protests. These three have previously been published separately, but in the context of the 2020 uprising are definitely worth returning to. (more…)
